Ecommerce & Digital Director
Our client is a global luxury fragrance brand who are looking for an intermediary hands-on, executional Ecommerce & Digital Director to drive the growth, performance, and optimization for their ecommerce business. This contract role sits within a small but growing team, requiring a digital leader who is both strategic and highly execution-focused—comfortable developing high-level global strategies while also executing, testing, and optimizing digital initiatives in real time.
With a deep understanding of luxury brand positioning, customer acquisition, and high-end consumer behavior, you will oversee end-to-end ecommerce operations, performance marketing, CRM management, and additional revenue streams, ensuring sustained revenue growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Ecommerce Growth, Customer Acquisition & Revenue Strategy
- Develop and execute a revenue-driven ecommerce strategy (AU, EU, US, UK), ensuring sales growth, retention, and profitability.
- Lead customer acquisition efforts through paid media, organic channels, CRM, partnerships, and affiliate marketing.
- Direct site merchandising, product uploads, promotions, and digital content updates to drive conversion and engagement.
- Own ecommerce P&L, ensuring sustainable revenue growth with a data-driven, ROI-focused approach.
Brand & Luxury Digital Execution
- Maintain the integrity of the brand’s luxury positioning through all digital touchpoints.
- Brief creative teams and manage on-site brand storytelling, creative assets, and content updates to align with marketing calendar and product launches.
- Ensure all digital initiatives balance brand equity with commercial performance.
- Manage digital assets to enhance customer experience, engagement, and brand perception.
Customer Acquisition, CRM & Retention Strategy
- Own and execute a customer acquisition strategy across paid search, social, influencer marketing, and brand collaborations.
- Oversee CRM strategy, managing customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and loyalty programs to enhance retention.
- Build and optimize email, SMS, and retargeting campaigns, ensuring personalization and engagement with high-value customers.
- Develop re-engagement campaigns to drive repeat purchases and brand advocacy.
- Use CLV (Customer Lifetime Value) data to refine acquisition and retention efforts.
Performance Marketing & Digital Execution
- Oversee and execute performance marketing campaigns across Paid Social, SEM, SEO, Retargeting, and Affiliate Marketing, ensuring efficient CAC and strong ROAS.
- Actively manage relationships with external digital agencies, ensuring campaigns are optimized for maximum efficiency and revenue impact.
- Implement and test A/B strategies across digital ads, landing pages, and email marketing to drive incremental improvements.
- Monitor key metrics daily, adjusting strategies and execution in response to performance trends.
Website, UX & Omnichannel Optimisation
- Own and manage daily site updates, including merchandising, promotions, product launches, and UX enhancements.
- Ensure a seamless customer journey, optimizing conversion rate, checkout experience, and personalization.
- Source and manage tech partners and agencies to execute website updates, troubleshooting, and UX improvements.
- Implement CRO best practices, refining the shopping experience through data-backed decisions.
Technology & Digital Tools
- Directly manage ecommerce platform integrations, analytics tools, and CRM systems to streamline digital performance.
- Implement best practices for site speed, mobile optimization, and payment gateway enhancements.
- Work with third-party vendors to execute new site features, plug-ins, and automation tools to enhance efficiency.

You will have the hands-on ecommerce expert with 7-10+ years of experience in digital marketing, ecommerce growth, and CRM execution, be a creative thinker and a background in luxury, beauty, or fashion ecommerce, with a deep understanding of brand positioning and high-end consumer behaviours.
Whilst this is an initial contract / freelance assignment, for the right candidate - it could turn into your perfect permanent role.
