General Operations Manager

Our client is a design-driven company specialising in innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for global brands. They are looking for a General Manager with a strong background in operations and finance, with experience in events, production, or design ownership. You will lead a team of five in operations, overseeing cost control, ERP systems, and premium packaging projects, including duty-free products. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role will work with a total team of 16, including three account managers and three creatives. The role is based in Surry Hills, Sydney and is a full time position, working onsite, with one WFH day on a Wednesday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and financial management, ensuring efficient cost control and ERP system optimisation.
  • Lead a team of five in operations, managing project timelines, resource allocation, and premium packaging production, including duty-free products.
  • Collaborate with account managers and creatives to deliver innovative packaging solutions aligned with client expectations and industry standards.
  • Ensure seamless project flow from brief to development, sample production, and final delivery, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to optimise operational processes and support long-term business goals.

 

Ideal candidate:

  •  Proven track record in operations and financial management with 5+ years of experience, ideally within packaging, events, or production industries.
  •  Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team, ensuring seamless collaboration between operations, account managers, and creatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost control, ERP systems, and delivering high-quality projects within tight deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, ready to drive operational efficiency and contribute to the company's long-term growth.
